ENVIRONMENTAL EXCELLENCE AWARD!

In 2006, Rutledge Construction Company was presented with this prestigious award by the City of Chanhassen, in recognition of our efforts and outstanding commitment to our natural resources and community.

CONSISTENTLY STRIVING
FOR WAYS TO IMPROVE!

In the last five years, RCC has been investing in ways to decrease or improve our environmental footprint. We are committed to do our part of being an environmentally responsible member of the community.

DRIVEN BY VEGETABLE OIL – A CARBON NEUTRAL FUEL

Yes, you guessed it! During the past 3 years, we have been investing in the use of VEGETABLE OIL to run our trucks and equipment. We partnered with Minnesota Waste Vegetable Oil Recycling and are taking advantage of newly advanced technologies to reduce our consumption of diesel fuel. Maybe you have seen one of our trucks on the road, and if you think got a whiff of french fries, you probably did. Not only do our trucks smell better, they run better and cleaner too! This fuel conversion from waste vegetable oil to fuel decreases our carbon footprint and has substantially reduced our expenses. With unstable prices of fuel, we are able to better manage overhead, and there is no doubt that this can give us an advantage over our competition.

Again, with the great success of our joint efforts and overwhelming encouragement of our clients and colleagues, we are extremely excited about what the future holds. We would like to thank Dan and Stewart of MN WVO Recycling for all their help and hard work in getting this program off the ground and running full steam ahead. www.mnbiofuel.com

CORN TECHNOLOGY– IT’S SIMPLY GREENER!

We are excited about CORN! RCC has taken advantage of greatly refined technologies and is using corn to produce heat for our office building and maintenance shop during the winter months. Not only does this measure directly support our local farmers, but it also decreases our consumption of natural gas.  Just recently, we expanded our corn burning activities to include on-site temporary heaters for our projects under cold weather construction. A project last winter for Erik’s Bike Shop (Maple Grove), resulted in an estimated 75% reduction of propane or natural gas consumption. With fuel prices continuing to rise, we anticipate expanding our corn-fueled temporary heat program throughout the upcoming heating season. Our clients are pleased to know that they are supporting our endeavors to be environmentally friendly, as well as cost conscious – especially when they experience it first hand.
