Founded In 1947 By Ralph Rutledge


Ralph's construction background came from working on various military construction projects during the war. After the war, with his family, based in St. Louis Park, Ralph started to build his American dream one project at a time; and soon, with the help of a growing industrial economy Rutledge Construction, Co. was formed.

 

 

Generations To Come

 

Tom Rutledge began working for his dad as a teenager and joined him full-time after graduating in Construction Management. The father and son team worked together until Ralph retired. Toms tenure with the company has spanned over 40 years, and now the company management has expanded to include the third generation.

About Our Staff

OWNER & PRESIDENT ...

As President and owner, Tom Rutledge guides all aspects of business for the company.

 

Tom is involved in all projects. He hires and supervises all employees from job superintendent to office personnel. He is involved with goal setting, sales, and negotiations
with our clients.


Tom provides the leadership to maintain morale, enhance creativity and productivity of all staff members. He utilizes his experience to train and develop the staff. He holds them to the highest standards and continues to lead by example.


OUR SALES STAFF ...
We recognizes the importance of having knowledgeable sales people. This is why all sales people also take on additional functions with in the company. It is a common practice for a sales person to also serve as the Project Manager, thus allowing them to be involved with the work from start to finish. We believe this is one more reason why we are able to retain our clients with such success.

PROJECT MANAGER
Our Project Manager is responsible for a job from start to finish. They act as liason with the owner, architects, staff members and subcontractors on all aspects of the project. This includes design, drafting, project specifications, bidding, estimating, scheduling, job site coordination, and supervising the work force. They organize and work with the job supervisor and subcontractors on the project to insure quality control.

DESIGN & DRAFTING
Our experienced design staff utilizes an in house CAD system (Computer Aided Design) for the preparation of preliminary and final designs for commercial,industrial and residential projects. We work hard to keep up to date with the ever changing state codes and mandate additional schooling for our employees. We are able to help our clients understand the required rules and regulations that apply to their project, and with these tools we help our clients fine tune their needs and visualize solutions. We can also coordinate design specifications and plans with the architect to better serve the client, which results in producing quality, turn key projects.

FIELD SUPERINTENDENT
Our Field Supervisors work closely with project management to insure all field workers and subcontractors are in tune with the schedule and project specifications. Our Superintendents have many years of experience in all facets of construction. They are trained to recognize job site safety concerns and to ensure that the site stays clean and organized.
